The Huguenots of Spitalfields is focused on promoting the public understanding of Huguenot heritage and culture.

Our objective is to highlight the contribution of the Huguenots to advance the education of the public, particularly persons resident in, working in or visiting Spitalfields, Tower Hamlets, and the City of London by promoting Huguenot Culture and Heritage in Spitalfields.

Our primary interest is Spitalfields but also Soho, Wandsworth, Clerkenwell, Marylebone, Soho and Bethnal Green and further afield in Norwich, Southampton, Canterbury, Rye and many other towns where the Huguenots sought sanctuary.

Our focus is on these rich patches of tangible history: the people who inhabited the streets, their lives, their contributions and their legacy.

The focus on the Huguenots and where they settled is even more vital in the current climate of destructive building projects wiping out this rich heritage of our first refugees.
