christchurchBuilt between 1714 and 1729, Christ Church is one of the finest baroque churches in this country and is reckoned to be Nicholas Hawksmoor's masterpiece. Looking at this beautiful piece of architecture today, it is hard to believe that in 1960 the church was all but derelict and was nearly demolished. Restoration of the building began in 1976 and was completed in 2004.
