Unveiling of a Huguenot Plaque in September

plaque 2 aA plaque to commemorate the Huguenots of Spitalfields was unveiled by the Huguenot historian, Dr Robin Gwynn, at the closing event of Huguenot Summer in September 2015. Positioned outside Hanbury Hall, Hanbury Street in Spitalfields, the artwork of handmade ceramic Delft tiles was designed and made by artist, Paul Bommer to convey and celebrate the Huguenots rich and varied contribution to British society.

The event was the culmination of three festivals which attracted over 28,000 people - with this year's programme including over 135 events  - many held in the towns where the Huguenots settled.Hug plaque
